"A full spool of line on your reel will increase the distance of your cast but make it harder to throw without backlashing, a spool that is under full will help the beginner but don't expect to throw it a mile, this may also help if you are "skipping under docks."

"Flat pockets off the main lake, particularly those fed by small streams, can be hotspots for fall bass fishing. Locate those pockets that the baitfish are congregating in and you’ll usually find bass. These fish can be quite selective, so have a variety of shad imitating lures tied on and ready to use."
