Timmy Horton of Muscle Shoals, Ala., the 2000 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year, has signed a multi-year endorsement agreement with Vicious Fishing.Horton is a four-time Bassmaster Elite Series winner with more than $1.7 million in earnings during his 12-year career. His AOY title came during his rookie season, the first time that ever has happened. Horton has qualified for the Bassmaster Classic 10 times, finished in the money 97 times in 140 tournaments and has 95 finishes in the Top 50. Horton will be using the Vicious Fishing series of Braid, All-Purpose, Fluorocarbon and Ultimate lines during the 2010 season. Horton also competes on the Professional Anglers Association circuit. “I have known and worked with Vicious pro-staff manager Chris Dutton for about 10 years and last year asked if I could try some line,” Horton said. “I like the castability of the different lines and the consistency with each one. Braided line is such a big part of my fishing style and it has great castability, reliability and strength. I’m really looking forward to using Vicious line during the 2010 season.” Dutton said the addition of Horton helps Vicious Fishing due to his background as a former guide on Pickwick Lake in Alabama and on the professional circuits. “Timmy brings a wealth of knowledge that will lend different perspectives and recommendations as we constantly seek to improve,” Dutton said. “Being able to tap into his experiences in different fishing situations will add valuable insight.” Horton is a longtime pro-staffer for Bass Pro Shops, which will begin carrying Vicious Fishing line in its retail stores and catalog. Vicious Fishing line also is available at numerous retail stores and online merchants. “The quality of fishing line is getting more competitive with variety and price points, and Vicious Fishing has done a great job in both of those areas,” Horton said. “All lines have different characteristics and I’m looking forward to fishing more before the season begins to get a feel for each of the Vicious Fishing lines I’ll be using compared to what I’ve used in the past. “Two main things you want from fishing line is strength and shock-resistance, and that’s not something you want to second-guess or scrimp on. Vicious Fishing has built itself with people I trust and who want the best lines available for anglers to use and enjoy. I feel confident telling fans about Vicious Fishing and its products.” |
